I was thinking how perfect this shot would have been for this challenge:
I was thinking of doing it all over, but that's just not my style :) |

I like it a lot! It hink it would have faired very well. The water is like velvet and the exposure feel very correct. Just a very aesthetic piece to look at.

Cool shot. Here's my other choice for this challenge, this is someone else art, so my entry is my own artwork.

I love the photo - I would have given it high marks, here is the photo I decided not to enter, what do you think?

What I really like about your shots (bobdaveant and caba) is that they utilize leading lines to enhance the focus of the center composition. I really think the winner will probably have something with leading lines. I wish I would have though about that, seeing that the one I submitted really doesn't. I am extremely proud of my centered shot by the way and am excitied to see how it fares.

I like it very much, except for the cars and other stuff on the left side. They take away from a great abstract.
DOH! Beat me to it.

These are two of my rejects. Funny, I chose not to go with a leading line shot. We'll see how my real entry does. Probably gets blasted.

Just a couple of shots from my portfolio.

This would be excellent for the Proportions challenge imo.

Here is my reject. I wondering now if this one would have done better.

Chris, I'm sorry but I fail to see what is your centered subject in this photo.

treat the boat and the skier as one and it'll make sense. it's a stretch, but i could squish it into my 'meets the challenge' box. I try to be pretty liberal.

Curious about this one--After my results in abstract I wasn't sure how another camera movement based shot would be received, so I used a different shot for centered.
Curious for feedback, and how you might have scored it in Centered!
Note: this was done according to basic editing rules. No filters were used.

Thanks. Actually, I flattened the light with levels and a hue/saturation layer to give it a more painterly look. I will reconsider the amount as I work that one for my portfolio.
The sharpness in the middle is pretty hard to do. Try rotating your camera while shooting and see ;) |

I didn't say it was easy. I've tried this as well. You can interesting effects.
Rotate from vertical to horizontal:
Move camera vertically:

I'm really regretting my entry in this challenge. It was a stretch to fit the challenge and I can see I was right. Just take a look at my comments after voting is done, you'll see. It should have been entered in a different challenge or scrapped from the current one. I was just over anxious with my new toy that I felt compelled to submit something. Next time around, I'll make sure it's worthy. :) |
