My friends, I am happy to report that I've upgraded to the Canon 60D as of today after weighing the pros and cons (i.e. eating ramen for a couple of days a week). I used the Canon Loyalty Program, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with their service. I also got the kit's 18-135 lens, which, I think, is versatile enough for the shoots that I plan to use it for - macro and maybe portraits. I am not quite ready to buy a quality macro lens just yet, and I am puzzled by converters and extension tubes. Any thoughts on these? |

congrats on the upgrade!
for doing macro stuff for now, stay away from converters and use the extension tubes. I have used the extension tubes and the results are pretty good. you will need to use a tripod and manual focus and have plenty of light. Using shutter lock up and a remote will help tremendously. since there are no optics in the extension tubes, you can get the lower cost ones. you can use them with any lens. |

I had no idea that existed. Now I know! I'll keep it in mind the next time I need to upgrade or replace my camera.
Thanks! |

20% off for refurbished body/kit after trading in your broken/used canon camera. Mine came down to ~ $650 after tax + free shipping. Not bad for someone trying to save some dineros. |

That is my most frequently used lens. Nice and sharp at all ranges. Not so expensive that I'll have a fit if something ill befalls it.
