Funny I was only just going to suggest this one this week, so someone read my mind.

I loveee clouds!!! I have some awesome storm HDR clouds I took last year but they are not valid for this contest, looks like I will be going out taking some more.. good thing we have a storm these next few days so I can get some good ones!
I will be interested to see what people do with their pictures

Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday should offer an abundance of clouds in your home town. Tuesday will likely have a thunderstorm around noon. Good shooting!

Got my fallback position established with a decent, if not spectacular, image this evening. Now we look for something better :-)

Well, whatever you do, don't use a polarizer! ;-)

General, can you please explain, I am learning,

I thought that when the skies are blue and you wish to bring out the clouds more to make the skies deeper or the clouds whiter, that a Circular polarizer filter "should" be used? I am thinking about an HDR For my shot.....

I didn't phrase that especially well. I meant to say it's a decent shot, but not a spectacular one :-)

He's pulling Janine's leg. Polarizer is very useful for sky/cloud shots, yes. Watch out if it's a wide angle shot though: the amount of polarization varies with the angular position of the sun, so if you're using a wide angle that covers, say, 90 degrees from side to side, then one sided will be noticeably darker than the other most of the time.

We either have no clouds or all clouds (one big grey one covering the entire sky) here.

Though I dreamed about clouds last night, and that I should take a picture of them for the challenge.

I think I'm on DPC too much...

LOL wendy

Thank you Bear, that makes more sense, I do not own a wide angle lens (yet) I have not found a use for it yet but I should get one because I love taking landscape pictures and nature pictures, I am just learning still on what things are, just brought my first telephoto 70-300 lens and that has never came off my camera yet LOL

Thank you for that explanation!

Of course a clouds challenge would come 3 days after a flight.

As far as I know, this is still Friday. As per my previous comment, you will have a partly cloudy Saturday and Sunday, with more significant rainfall and cloud cover on Monday and Tuesday. I think you'll have the full range of clouds over the next four days. It's up to you to take advantage of your opportunities.

A nor'easter bomb over the weekend. Should have been a "storm" challenge, rather than a "clouds" challenge.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down, and still somehow, it's cloud illusions I recall -- I really don't know clouds at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From WIN and LOSE and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all.

Joni Mitchell, what a song, what a talent :-)

No no NO! It's another verse from the song!

Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

Oh but now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From WIN and LOSE and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
