I just wanted to share this really. I saw it the day before the submission date and i thought it might make a good'un. I thought it mildly amusing, but mostly terribly, terribly dishearteningly sad as well...

I don't understand British humour, except maybe Benny Hill.

I like it
As an "opposites" photo it says so much more than a picture if an ice cube on a cocktail stick over a candle ever will.
Just my opinion

I would have said that the image presented is to 'localized' for me to be able to understand what is opposite about the subject. I have no idea who or what this "Arsenal Star" is.
Is it referring to someone on a television show?
Is it the name of someone?
It may show 'Opposites' to someone in the know, unfortunately I am not one of those people. I feel cheated now...
Can you explain what's opposite in this? |

sorry, being a bit vague to non-brits. basically arsenal is a football team; for some reason the newspapers two main stories of the day concerns 1) the ongoing problems of the middle east, brutality and unbelievable levels of unpleasantness in the world, and 2) some over-paid footballer splitting up from his wife. these are the two things they editor thought key to selling more copies of his paper. just thought it was quite tragic really, but you can't help but laugh (albeit unpleasantly) |
