The vast majority of my critical comments are that I have over-exposed my image. I'm absolutely positive it's what's dragging my Opposites score down, and in fact getting that shot was an utter pain in the you know where because the shutter speed was so long I was getting over-exposed and BLURRY images!

I understand the basic science involved in exposure time, but my camera manual is in Japanese! Please help! I don't want to be limited to the point-and-shoot modes of my camera!

I've found it helpful to bracket my exposures. You might want to try that.

Polarizer or ND filter.

It's a Canon 300D "Kiss" actually. The same as a Rebel, but easier for many Japanese people to promounce. I bought it in Japan in a camera speciality shop.

I have a polarizer and that helps some outside, but not inside. How do I bracket my exposures? I understand the concept, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Sorry, I'm very new to the more technical matters of photography.

Edit: Removed link because they ship to US only.
There's a manual on eBay. As of now it's $5, but it still has almost 9 days left.

Here's one that is a Buy It Now for $15.

There's probably a function on the Rebel for auto exposure bracketing (AEB). It would be described in the manual. It will be a menu option if it exists.

Now that you have access to the manual, the instructions for bracketing are spelled out pretty well. It's in the index under AEB (as cpanaioti
said.) Good luck!

Is there a histogram also? If it does, then utilizing it would also help.

Yes, and you can have a readout on every shot in the little lcd.

You can usually order an English manual in Japan. I did when I bought my first Nikon SLR a few years ago. They'll charge for that, so it's lucky an earlier poster pointed you to the on-line manual.

If you ever need any translation, just ask me.

That's because you're in the south. Up here in Tohoku, everyone, including me, absolutely loves natto. I've had it for lunch 3 times this week.
