It's striking how much that "feels" like the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite, but I'm pretty sure it's not... |

That's it, Sara, at Sugar Pine Point State Park.
Amazing ability to spot the architecture of the Lake Tahoe mansions, EstimatedEyes. Sadly, however, less-than-amazing ability to stick with the hunt. ;-D |

It was fascinating reading about the mansions - Isaias Hellman left Germany at age 17 and one year later had purchased the Nevada Bank of San Francisco. I particularly liked the idea of Thunderbird Lodge - I wonder if there is a pink Mercedes in the garage? |

Name of location, but better still a little detail about the building in the background. |

lol, I used to go there as a kid, so it was an easy spot. had not been to Hellman-Ehrman, and sadly my 5 minutes of googling did not lead me there. Nice find Sara. I will guess (incorrectly no doubt) that your shot was in Penzance, Cornwall ... the building though looks like an old round barn like you see up in Vermont. Or perhaps an old water tower. |

Nope, not Penzance, and not a barn as such.

Is the round building a mill? |

Sennen Cove Harbour. The round building is the Capstan Gallery, which was formerly used to house the winch for pulling the boats up the slip.
Here it is.
