Just got a ten (really), thanks, I know it's not that bad, but neither is it that good! Oh these voters! Went from 5.7 to 6.16 in two votes in Best of 2013.

I thought I might as well balance the whining about the low votes with a whining about high votes :-)

At the end of the day, no, they do not matter.

I started the thread bc no one else did, that's all.

The Baghead told me why they gave me a one, basically mine is DNMC and I figured that before I entered the challenge, I even wrote down in my comments section, before rollover that I wasn't expecting much with my image, just had a little fun with it that's all.

BTW some really good images in the challenge overall!

Actually yes...

There isn't a photographer here who doesn't care about their score. They might claim to, but they get happy with good votes and disappointed with low votes -- though maybe not to the same level as each other.

If they didn't care about scores, they wouldn't enter a contest and would simply post their photos on Flickr or somewhere.
