By the time Bear gets back from Boston, we should have a list of every fort on the eastern seaboard. Someone is bound to get it.

A lucky guess. Even though I ride by it (underwater) twice a day, I haven't really been there since a class field trip probably 40 years ago (I did run a 10k race in 1982 that went around it, but I was too preoccupied to look at the cannons).

Not the Key Bridge (although, that would have been a good one to follow Fort McHenry)

Bridge over troubled waters? The bridge on the river Kwai? A bridge too far? Bridge to Terabithia? The Bridges at Toko-Ri? Bridge to Nowhere? Lloyd Bridges? |

There are clues in the photo, and oddly enough, in at least one of the guesses so far. |

BINGO!
The shot was taken from the Roosevelt Island Tramway.
Art had the right duet, but the wrong song when he said Bridge over Troubled Waters. Simon and Garfunkle also have a song called 'The 59th Street Bridge Song' (Feelin' Groovy). The Queensboro Bridge is also known as the 59th Street Bridge.

Good. Another folly, or two, and the vegetation makes me think it's in the UK. I don't recognize them. I've have to Google :-)
ETA: Excuse the train of thought posts... I'm now beginning to think these are "genuine" ruins.
