Post your outtakes from the Album Cover challenge here.

So this was the original..

But some seemed to be sticklers for the uploaded image being 1:1 instead of as the challenge said "create an album cover". So would making an album inside of an album done better?

I like what you did. To me, it was pretty clear where the album cover was.

Like you, my participant vs. non-participant score had a very wide delta. (we actually had exactly the same non-participant score)

I did not pay attention to that breakdown. For me participant is skewed because they count anyone who entered OR commented on any photo as a participant. I would more like to see the rating for entrants vs. non-entrants to see that breakdown.

Since you pointed that out, I am honored to see that the 13 commenters averaged an 8.00 for it... very nice. :)

I always took 'participant' to mean 'entrant'

Yeah, it would seem that way, but somewhere they defined it and it was a little disappointing.

Hard to say which the voters would value more, making two covers or presenting the cover in context -- I think both are very fine images.

I had too much fun playing with type on my entry, but the base image isn't very dramatic ...

Looks good in context though...

I'm surprised I didn't get a validation check. I think people thought I actually printed the album cover and staged the scene maybe?

In fact, I'm holding the record for real, the Simon and Garfunkel is propped beneath it. One photo.

The background is my driveway. My knee and shoe were afterthoughts from the shots I took of the stack of records -- which I then had to duplicate, invert, darken, etc... to make it look like two large stacks of records. In reality, I only had about 9-10.

It was your use of my name that cost you points because of my notoriously one-sided record contracts.
