As much as the 1s lower the score, the 4s and the 5s actually hurt worse.

shooting for a 4.8 at this rate. I should of shot something that was 'eye candy' to the viewers. I've made this mistake before. Clearly I had to do it again before I learned my lesson. lol |

Carrie, please don't try the two faced approach. "The viewers" are surprising sometimes and everybody evolves. Post what you like. |

But... and this is not to you specifically, be sure to shoot what you like but be willing to grow and learn. I may like photos with terrible white balance or crooked horizons, but that doesn't make them good photos.
I went through the first 3 years of my shots on there and some of them I was shocked I'd entered, but I think I've gotten the technicals down a little better since then, so they may not score well, but are better photos and closer to my intent.
