The last I heard, there was a recall on those because of faulty splice power relays from BZ-Tech. They work fine, until there's a failure, then all that stored energy gets released at once, right through the VFâ€Â¦if you wanna chance it, be my guest, but I not OK with my head being trapped inside a plasma ball

DUDE! Pay Attention! That was first-generation! The improved nano-technology has allowed implementation of fully-integrated relays.

Bear's quite right about this, second generation has improved the nano-tech way beyond anything ATG actually has to offer.. While ATG is superior to Canon or Nikon offerings, that's still like comparing a retarded chimpanzee against a toddler with a crack addiction..... Really, there's simply better options out there... BZ-Tech has superior performance, better reliability and the price is much more reasonable...

For all that it's worth, ATG is fine if you're not into cutting edge equipment, but BZ-Tech is the true technology of the future, and all serious photographers will, without a doubt, be going that direction in the future..

As in interesting aside, I had trouble with my BZ-Tech RF-777yz radio triggers when trying to use them with my new Fuji X100s, I called BZ-Tech, and spoke at some length with the owner, Brad, (great guy BTW), anyhow, after discussing the matter at some length with me, he designed a new set of triggers specifically for the X100s that addressed all of my concerns, and even took it a step further, offering pre-synch adjustable shutter delay, so that now, unlike ATG, Canon, or Nikon equipment, my leaf-shutter equipped Fuji can now sync via radio triggers at a full 1/4000th shutter speed... I not only can KILL daylight, in fact, it's so good I could kill the sunlight on Mercury while still only illuminating my subject with a single BZ-Tech 333 Platinum Speedlight, which is superior to ATG's dual flash-tube unit in every way, not only does it deliver a faster refresh rate, but it put a full 42% more illumination power on my subject because it uses the latest triple-flash-tube technology, and nano-tech capacitors which increase recycle rates while lowering impedance to nearly zero... Amazing stuff.

I hate to say it, but really, only the rich and uninformed would ever buy ATG equipment these days.. (of course, we all know the rich have more dollars than cents, and love to torture animals...)

He really is.... So much more professional and well informed than Moe, Larry or Curly over at ATG.. Those three are serious stooges and I suspect that Larry is a pedophile.

Did I tell you what happened the last time I contacted ATG with a technical issue regarding one of the my crappy old ATG Gold flash units? (I say last time, because after that I sold all of my ATG equipment for pennies, just to be rid of that shitty company and their horrible service)...

Well, anyway, I was taking pictures of my daughter for her 3rd grade play, and there were times when the lighting was seriously off in terms of temperature - it looked like I was shooting with a mercury-vapor lamp.... Everything was just green and sickly looking.. (turns out that this is a common problem with the ATG dual flash-tube units)... Anyway, Larry requested that I send him some sample photos of the problem... Well, after he received them he started making all kinds of lewd and inappropriate comments about my daughter and what he'd like to do to her.... Well.. Anyway, like I said, those folks over at ATG are criminally horrible, for so, so many reasons, my advice is to never send any pictures of your children to those pediphiles over at ATG.

In the end, I'm just so thankful for BZ-Tech and the wonderful service I get from Brad and the team there. Of course, even Canon and Nikon are better to deal with than ATG, pretty much ANYTHING is better.. I'll definitely send along a hello for you tanguera, I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear that you had thought of him.. (They really are so wonderful like that! They almost feel like family there at BZ-Tech)

I'd always just assumed it was short for "Bradley Zuzanivich Technologies"... Was I mistaken?

Ahh yes BZ-Tech! They are a renowned animal friendly company I will continue to support them. Have you seen their latest Environmental Impact Policy? Their whole Mission Statement has become the industry benchmark.

I was considering the BZ tech 2000W or the ATG Profoto A1c. How does the FTL spread compare? I want to maintain compatibility with my existing gear.

Hey An1,

Your beloved ATG line is taking a real beating in this forum. What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?

I was just ready to drop about $1500.00 bucks on some ATG lighting products but after reading all this I'm BZ-Tech all the way!!!

BRAVO ZULO!!!

So, back to the original topic...This just turned up on the B&H channel on YouTube. I haven't watched it yet, but I suspect it's relevant.
