Also, I do have a fb fan page for my LX7 camera too :/

Leo, I have a FB page, (only because I have some distant relatives that use that as a means to contact me), so I'm not all that hip on how to use it. Can you tell me how I add a link on my page to dpchallenge please?

Just go there, click on "like" button... that's it. Each time someone updates the page with new post, shows on your FB as well...

What DID happen to the other page? And which one will we be using? I wonder how many more will be created...

Upon further study: so this one is DIFFERENT. Better??? I don't quite understand the difference between them.

Beetle, Stagolee... to answer your question, once again (if you read previous posts, you will probably see my answer there also)... I did search for DPC on FB... could not find anything coming up to list, and I was surprised why no one has created a FB before. Apparently, the other pages created withing "Group" category, and the latest one is in "Community" category. I have no idea what's the difference, but the point is, NOW people are saying "What happened to the other DCP FB pages", which I had no idea existed because never mentioned "before"... you see my point?

I WILL keep the new page updated daily, so other will be new people joining daily as well. That page also can use some hand from other members who have FB pages and many friends to share with!

Yeah, I'm late to the party, but read through the thread here and Liked the FB page, but the old one is still going to cause confusion and confuse any of those who already Liked that page (127 currently) that are not reading threads here. We need to find out who set that page up and ask that it be removed. It might have been better to find out that in advance and then ask to take it over, but we're here now, so...

Not knocking ya Leo, but you just search for DPChallenge and it comes up.

I know... trust me, I did search. there is no other reason to create a page already exit... However, again, Since I did create this one, it's my duty keep it up to date... and post the hell out until there are 3,500 "Like"s

I still don't understand the difference between the two, yet they "feel" rather different.

Before we go disappearing the established one, can we please figure out which is the BETTER option, then promote that one?

Can other people contribute/share/chat on the new one, too, or is this purely Leo's baby that we're allowed to look at from a distance only?

Anyone can set up a Facebook page anytime! I only used the old one when DPChallenge was down.....to see what was going on.

I gather Leo is trying to keep tabs on users if this site does go down for good....not a bad idea but he should have consulted the other page creator first.

community (new one) seems like more visible than groups... but, nothing against any other pages, as I said, more is better. Either website, as long as they are updated often (so it shows on your FB as well) is good!

More is not necessarily better. The old one is a community page (according to FB's classification)

It's not a huge deal, but there were a lot of former DPCers following that page. Now you need to get them to follow the new page. Just saying it's a bit confusing for folks who aren't keeping up here on DPC itself. I would advocate consolidating them.

Don't take any of this personally, Leo - everyone appreciates your efforts and your initiative.

I don't, I am ok with everything as long as we are now paying attention to the other sources to get some more people in here...
I asked on of the site manager to combine the older peeps to the new one. I will be more active, it only makes sense to me!

Leo, I am very impressed by your passion and dedication to helping this site. However, as others have pointed out several times, there is at least one other DPC page on FB (regardless of what it's category is) which has a large number of members, including me. I really we need to clarify and consolidate the FB situation before you continue promoting your version; perhaps joining forces with them. At the moment it is too confusing, and I really don't want to have THREE DPC pages to have to check into.

When Leo started this thread, I was skeptical about another Fb page, too. But the pages are different. The first is a 'group', where members occasionally converse. It's a tiny bit closed to the public, and that's cool. But Leo's 'community' page is a little different. Since he started it, many members of my family and Fb friends have "liked" and that's great advertising.

I like both.

Thanks for clarifying.

The camera club I belong to has two Facebook pages, one for members only and a public page with limited admins. Thanks for doing this, Leo. Maybe your passion for this site will be contagious!

Hope so... I don't ask anyone to carry cement blocks, or climb mountains... simply "clicking" would do which sometimes our cats doing it while walking on our keyboards!
