Sigma 35Mm F1.4 on Lightening deal
$200 off. It's a great little lens and a good deal.

I got one just to try. I've seen the results and was curious. For $200 off I can always resell it and make someone else a great deal and get my money back.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to keep both this and the 50/1.4 that I got a couple of weeks ago, but I got them both for good enough prices that I can just resell one or both. |

Why would Sigma want to sell a Sigma mount lens? |

But not, apparently, in that particular sale... |

Ah, thanks for posting that. I soul searched about purchasing it...and missed the deal.
But I couldn't see spending that much given I have the 24-70 F2.8, and I really have grown to love that lens (despite the weight). This one seemed heavy too, though Amazon is poor about posting real specs.
If it were in the $300's like the 50mm I would have splurged!

I had time to get this out of the box and try it today. Holy Shamoley! It is about the size of a giant eggplant, and the weight feels like it's made out of sold gold bricks, but the pictures look like they were taken by magical unicorns.
In other words, the lens is a keeper, despite the size and weight.
edit: obligatory picture taken with the thing.

I hope that those magical unicorns took some selfies!

Ann I didn't even open my lens up when it arrived. I posted it for sale on FM before I even got home to see the Amazon box, and it sold. I opened the amazon box, repackaged it in USPS priority box and shipped it.
Of course since I purchased a 200MM F2 the same day. I knew one of them would go!

200mm f/2. Now *that's* a lens that contains magical unicorn juice. |
