Elements 12

you have to be a Prime Amazon Member to receive this promotion. If your not going to do the PsCC then this is a good deal...

Hi, Gordon here. I found this site when looking for some photography tips - Wow! I am so inspired by what I've found/seen in the many challenges. I came to this thread because I was looking for software. You've saved me $50 on my first day of membership.

Now, with my thanks I have a question. I purchased the Elements 12 from the Amazon link you posted, but I have no idea what I'll be getting. Will this Elements 12 allow me to change the Blue content and manipulate photos as this photographer did in his reproduction of a watch?

I found this work and approach incredibly simple, so much so that I purchased a remote lighting/umbrella kit for several advertising photos that I have to put together. This site has inspired me to purchase my own tools and take those photos myself.

Again, Thanks.

Short answer, probably yes, but you gave us no link because you haven't been here long enough. Spell out the link (dot com") and one of us will parse it for you.

The link is to a DPC How-To article/tutorial:

Thanks for posting that link. The photographer walks through his editing steps and really made that watch image pop. Several of the images I've seen on here were transformed from good photos to awesome after editing. I may be dreaming that I could get a $49 version of Photoshop that is comparable with one costing $600.

I'm shooting some new tools for advertising and will need to follow the same steps that he did on that watch series.

Best Regards, Gordon

FWIW, I had the full version of CS shortly after I got here in '06, and I used it for about three years. When it became time for me to upgrade, I bought Elements 8, and have had 9,10,11, and now 12. Though I am by no stretch any kind of expert, I find Elements to be quite sufficient for my needs.

Especially as you state that you're new to all this, I'd save the money, go with PSE, and over time I think you'll agree that it is quite the bargain and that you will be able to post process images to their, and your, max potential.

Jeb, it was your post stating that you had just picked one up in response to the original post that prompted my move. I looked at your work and length of time here and immediately felt you had the credentials to know a good deal and useful product. My thought process was that if it's good enough for him, I should buy this..

Thanks to all for the inputs and help.

Regards, Gordon
