OK so got the 2GB LaCie today. Fast as hell (USB3.0), love it, well worth the $108+taxes CDN I paid for it.
But...and I've noticed this with all my storage units...wtf don't they save NEFs as NEFs? Why do they convert them to large-format jpgs? I like using NEF so I can then open them with PSCS5 and change things like exposure. |

NEF is a RAW format. You can't "save" in RAW, which is why those files are always considered valid originals here. |

*scratching head* I still don't get why my NEFs are now jpgs, just because they're on a LaCie...anyway...is OS Mavericks out now and what's the price point on it?
ETA: Just googled it...October 22nd so a week today...and if it's too expensive I'll just get Big Kitty instead. Gotta keep my status as the reigning queen of the trailing edge in technology!
