Pretty much sums it up for me. As a matter of fact I have the scores turned off and only know the scores at the end of the challenge, which I rarely enter. I come here to meet folks, look at some very interesting images and expand my horizon.
Viewing the some of the "artful" images has enabled me to gain an appreciation that beauty can and does have many forms.

*I* sure as heck don't shoot for average. Sometimes average finds me, sometimes I stumble upon it, occasionally I exceed it, but on average I'm slightly above average :-) |

Or LSD.
Of course, Burning Man on LSD would probably be the best bet. ;) |

I'm BURNING, man! With Anarchically creative fire! I'm a warlock without withers, a mage with a massage, a pedantic pedant and a sonographic son-of-a-gun! |

Possibly better that than channeling Bruce Willis ... |

I really didn't mean harm in my original post. So I do apologize since it offended you (and it was really meant not to). I just wanted to find out why people got so upset about scores and wanted to leave, before I forgot about it. I don't have the best memory, so I I don't ask something right when I'm reminded of it, or when it pops into my head, I will forget.
Anyhow... Your last response about how fatigue, in general, answered my original question. I guess one of the reasons why I don't let it get to me is because I'm not here as often. So many things in my life prevent me from coming here as much as I'd like. And many times I enter "last minute" shots, rather than putting 100% in every time. Hard to get upset about something when you don't put your all into it.
The last challenge I entered "fool the viewer" proved (to me) that when I do apply myself, I can score well an create something both appealing to myself and others. Then again, some of the ones that I've applied myself totally, must have lacked something, because they didn't score a well. But it is what it is.
Anyhow...
This discussion did open my eyes.
As for your images go, many of them are under rated. You have some great work in your portfolio, and should be proud.
Also, while I may be short tempered at times, I'm also one to admit when I've hurt someone, and try to make amends.
So I do apologize for offending you. It wasn't directed at you. And in the future, I will try to be me cautious of my words. |
Young Lady, my heart swells of pride for the decent human you are, may I please give you a hug? |

Thanks Doc... :)
I really do admire everyone's work here. Everyone has their own story to tell, the way they see the world through their eyes. So I DO appreciate everything on this site. Good, bad, and indifferent.
