All of these challenges are in 2013. All of them have double or triple the amount of views while in voting. All of them have less than 80 entries, some even less.

So, why then the poor turn-out?!?!?!?!?!?

I know that time has become less of a commodity for many including me. BUT if you are on DPC for more than 10 minutes at a time you can take just 10 minutes to vote.

Are they all paid-member challenges? 'Cuz those always get a lot more views than votes, since anyone can view them but not that many can vote.

Last months free study had 168 entries and the blue had only 86 votes. Not even the people entering are voting...

Looked. All Member challenges. But any given day at any given time there are 35-60 users on (well I don't know from 1 a.m to 7 a.m so...). Some may be paid members, some not. And I know we have more than 70 paid members ;-)

Bottom line is that participants in these challenges really deserve a better voter turn out. I can understand time being an issue for leaving comments I really do.

But on less than 80, 60, 50 entries - voting should take you about the time to drink a cup of coffee!!!

Well.... I vote nearly every challenge 100%... I don't understand why others don't :-( It's not so hard anymore, you're right.

Whether I enter or not, I very nearly always vote every challenge (unless I'm away from home) and it would be rare indeed for me to vote anything less than 100%.

Bear, Marion, and Pam we all do our part to vote 100% in nearly every challenge. There are, I'm sure, quite a few who do, do that.

I am appealing to:

those who used to vote, don't have time, but visit here and take a stroll.
those who are strapped for time, come visit, and forget to vote.
those lurkers who visit but hesitant. Come on in- get your feet wet!

If you have the time to visit at least spare a few minutes and vote.

It doesn't cost a thing and who knows! You might get inspired by something you see (sometimes that is all it takes to get out of a 'writer's/creative block).

I think a drink will do better than a picture(pitcher) don't you?:-) They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach:-) *places on the bar - a mug of coffee, a bar glass, wine glass, a tall glass, a shot glass, a chilled glass, and a footed mug. Waving at a plethora of hot beverages, liqueur, sodas, and cold drinks - take your pick! Any one will do as you take a few moments to vote if you have not done so already:-):-):-)

BTW, thanks for the thread bump and bumping the Comment on Every Vote Challenge:-)

I haven't been voting on every challenge lately because of time. When I do pop on the site it is usually when I am on my phone and voting doesn't work on it. If I manage to log on from a computer the first thing I do is pick a challenge in voting and vote. I always,100% of the time, vote on the challenges I enter which has also slowed down.

So here is what I will do - vote 100% on 2 of the weekly challenges and more if time allows. I will also comment on 10% of those votes. Maybe even while having a couple glasses of red!

Thank you Tim ,Thank you Cassandra.

I do of course vote 100% on all challenges, with the exception of when I am on vacation sometimes.

But now I have a piece of portable apparatus I can even do it then now.

I've been away for awhile, but upon my return, I have also noticed the number of entries and voting numbers are down. The voting is open for an entire week!!!!! You can vote 10 photos a day and still be able to vote an entire challenge. That would take you roughly 10 minutes. We can all could come up with excuses, but I vote the entire challenge when I vote, not a photo here and, Oh, I like this one...a photo there. I vote all entries.

Most of us know how important the almighty vote is to us when we take the time to enter a challenge, thus we should be showing the same respect to the others who have done that very same thing and entered a challenge. This is supposed to be a community and we should treat each other as such.

*gets off soapbox and prepares to finish voting the last challenge not yet completed*

CNovack, please pass whatever is and is in the 4th vessel from the left!! :P

One of the brainiacs here should work with Langdon to make it possible to vote from our smart phones!!! (If they were smart, they would all give me 10's!) just sayin...

You know, Enlightened , Tiny and bergiekat you make a good point I had not thought about. Many DPCer's are quite possibly looking from their mobile devices - and not all of them (Iphones for example) allow one to vote - or leave comments.

Perhaps one reason why it has not happened or is not being allowed is because on the smaller devices the powers that be want voters to see entries at there full resolution.

We keep calling for 1,000 pixel wide resolution to show more details - on a small device it would make it hard to really see it full screen without zooming and thus loosing part of the picture because one is studying a portion of it.

Question: The biggest portable device is the Ipad - can one cast their votes on that device or is that blocked too?

Sounds great! Thanks for doing this - *looks in the cabinet* let's see what we have for you.....hmmm, some Beaujolais Nouveau, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chianti, Lagrein, Malbec, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir,Red Wine, Sangria, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and some Zinfandel. Take your pick:-)

bergiekat picks up the vintage bottle and pours into a chilled glass. Enjoy:-)

littlemav Sorry to hear that you can't enjoy that cup of coffee in the morning in relaxing peace. I hear you though - mornings over in my household have gotten busy/crazy too.

Mmm, thank you for the wonderful wine! I have cabinet envy!!!! :P

You ARE able to vote from a tablet. I've a 10.1" Xoom and just changed a vote (up) on a photo...it needed to be raised and I did it with the Xoom. :)

You can vote on an iPad. I have.

Well with the TPL now started, I do hope that the voting increases here. It would be nice if the uptick in voting stays high and level. Through discussions here it is a strong possibility that many view the challenge entries on their mobile devices and not all of those devices are allowed to vote (which would be another explanation for the high view count).

So, anyone know of any contests where there are multiple prizes of Ipads for the DPC crowd?:-):-);-)

But seriously, it might be time to consider allowing voting to all apps to help increase participation.

I vote even if I have not entered. Really it's enjoyable and enriches your experience here on DPC.
