Well, if you think that you can get your money back out of the Sigma should you decide it's not your cup of tea, then I'd say jump at it if you can verify that both are in good operating condition. If you're satisfied with the Sigma, then great. If not, well then, you still have a macro lens!
The Tamron 90 is an optically excellent macro lens; from a convenience standpoint I don't like it so much, since it extends when focusing, unlike the Canons. Still, it's a great way to find out if you like macro shooting, and if you don't mind the extending during focus, perhaps it will do for the long run.

Only one question.
Do you care about sharpness at 100% zoom, or do you care about sharpness on the edges?
The Siggy is weaker in both areas.
But, let's really consider the use-case.
It's an ultrawide angle lens. Are you going to crop? No, that doesn't make sense, you'd zoom instead, or switch to a longer lens. So no worries about pixel-level sharpness if you're printing anything under 20x30.
Now, what about edge sharpness? Well, yeah, that's a bit of an issue - but really? How much does it matter? Very little I think - and the reason is that stopping down to f/9 or so is advisable anyhow to ensure that you get the DOF you'll want (if you want narrow DOF @ wide angles, you'd be looking at that new super-wide Sigma Art lens with the constant f/1.8)
As a further consideration, you have a limited lens selection now, two lenses, in your case, really is better than one. (even though, eventually I'll start telling you that you should drop the cheaper lenses and upgrade to L glass) |

Thanks guys. Seems you both advocate the 10-20 + 90mm macro over the Canon 10-22. I'll do a little more research and hopefully have a new lense/s at weeks end.
UWA lens will be for landscape (long exposure)
Cory, I've had the 70-200L and 100-400L. While awesome lenses,my hobby just doesn't justify me investing so much money into it. Until I go pro, that degree of money is better spend elsewhere. |

Especially in that case, go for the two over the one. You don't need that last bit of sharpness. (really, you don't - I know because I have a 12mm from Sigma that's pretty dodgy in the same areas) |

There's actually a new version that focuses internally, and has vibration control as well, but considering the price asked for both it's safe to assume we're talking about the older version here with the extending front element. For what it's worth, I have the older version and love it. |

Yup, non-VC. |

Bear in mind that the list price for Canon's 10-22mm has been lowered to $599 (with free shipping at B&H or Amazon). Hard to beat the image quality from that lens. |
