		| | A friend has this offer: 550EX + ST-E2 transmitter for US$250 including shipping.
Any thoughts and how it would perform on my 6D? I only found out that the in camera flash controls won't work. Any big deal?

Currently I only have a Sigma 500 DG Super, which has a slow recharge rate, the TTL seems off and needs to be re-chipped.

What other alternatives would be in that price range.

 Thanks,

 Tibi

		| | Take a look at the Yongnuo 568 EXii, it sells for about $180 and you can get their wireless triggers YN-622's which support TTL. I have the flash and I am able to use the in camera controls for it.

		| | Thanks. Somehow I wanted to avoid third party after my Sigma, but looks like YN is worth a look.

		| | Went to one of Scott Kelby's seminars last week and he raved about these things! They are practically disposable compared to the Canon, but they work well!! :) He also liked the triggers and the Cactus triggers. (Hope this helped.) Good luck!

		| | Thanks.
Here in HK YN-560III is HK$540(USD)70
 RF603 second hand HK$180(USD24)

But I wanted an eTTL so I can snap at events without my brain. I used my Sigma which was inconsistent and drove me nuts. I took it off and bumped the ISO to 6k +

Maybe I save for the 430EX2

 The YN565 is eTTL

 ETA:
But if your only intent is to use it on-camera, at events, then the Canon deal you found might be slightly better, since the 565EX will almost certainly work better on-body than the Yongnuo (*Though, I've found it to work on-body just fine). I rarely use on-body flash, so for me it's a non-issue.

I do a visit to the shop at lunch break. Lucky me I can do it... That's a Phottix shop that sells YN's as well around the corner.

There's the best idea. Throw a 565 on your 6D and snap a few shots. I'm thinking you'll walk out of the shop with it.
