Great site. Thanks for sharing. I sent it to my sister who teaches AP Human Geography at a high school. She said she definitely could use it except of course for the Ludacris map but then they might find that more interesting.

#38 is incredible. Longest straight line you can sail on earth. Having a hard time visualizing it? Go here!

So Bear, when are you going to make that trip? It would have to be the trip of a lifetime.

Seems to me that if you sail due East (or West) somewhere in the neighborhood of 80°S latitude you can continue to sail indefinitely (if not infinitely) without encountering land. What map #38 shows is perhaps better described as the longest continuous arc of a "great circle" which it is possible to sail.

Wow. Fascinating. The internet usage in China and India in #10 is quite revealing! I guess it corresponds to #12!

#17 is just depressing

#37 - I guess we must have met about 75% of that 2% during our 6 week odyssey....

#39, ROFL!!!

What would be the point? Nothing but water for 20,000 miles...

Increasing our odds of winning for a few months of course. Since you won't get back on the BOC list we're trying to be innovative here.

They should clarify: Government mandated policies. There are companies in the US that have paid maternity leave.

Sheesh, you had me wondering what the heck the BOC Challenge for single-handed, round the world sailing had to do with this, since THAT wasn't a straight line...
