Since we don't have that many flowers up yet for new photo ops I decided to try to get some organization into my PC (and free up some disk space by removing junk) and came across these images. Any comments/critiques are welcome.

The second one seems rather flat to me but the poppy is amazing...is that digitally done?

It depends on what you mean by digitally done. If your asking about post processing then yes there was some done.
1. Used the technique from 'Improving Shadow and Highlight Detail' to bring the tonal range more in line with what the camera can handle.
2. Cropped to 8x10
3. Applied Unsharp mask
4. Resized to 300dpi
5. Applied second wave of unsharp mask
I cloned out one hair from the centre.

Thank you pcody for the comment on 'Begonia Glow'. The affect achieved was quite accidental (I know I shouldn't admit that). I took the image in RAW on my G3 and then converted it to a 16 bit TIFF. The background is actually a sickly grey when converted to an 8 bit TIFF.
The only post processing was cropping, resampling and unsharp mask. I believe my light source was the setting sun but this could be one of the ones where I also used a small flashlight.
