		| | I recently discovered that my 7D isn't working in liveview mode. When I press the shutter button it doesn't focus, just click fully as if to take a photo, only it doesn't actually take a photo. Before I take it to the Canon agent I was wondering whether anyone can suggest a setting or firmware problem that could cause this problem. My firmware is not the latest version.

		| | One thing you can try is to do a reset to factory defaults. That should clear it if it was due to a software setting. Also check to make sure that the lens you are using is not set to manual focus. |

		| | I did check the lens, but that wouldn't account for the fact that the camera only pretended to take a photo.
I'll have to try the reset later.

		| | Thanks, kirbic. DPChallenge to the rescue once again. It was a software setting. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I'll know what to do if it happens again.

		| | So am I, kirbic. If I'd taken it to the Canon agent it would probably have cost me quite a lot just to find out there was nothing wrong with my camera.
