and my entry in color - which is what I really wanted to enter (I don't think it would have done as well as my entry, though)

 mariuca likes the color version more, too. And I even thought  cutout might, too. Problem with an "in the style of" challenge when it's someone like cutout is that IMO his style is less about black and white or blur or texture and more about doing what he likes. So I couldn't decide whether to go with what I liked (which in this case was the color version) which is what I think Jan would have encouraged me to do or to go with the monochrome which more nearly approximated what I thought the voters might think of as Jan's style . . . gets a bit complicated, I think :)
