Hey all

Sooo incredibly disappointed. For the last few years I've had access to a wonderful old stone farmhouse owned by a local dairy farmer with all kinds of cool rooms upstairs, tons of atmosphere and angles and light, light light...no matter what time of day it was, you could find good light anywhere. I always stopped in first to say hi to the owner and let him know I'd be over there in the old stone house.

Well today I packed up my gear, planning to get a shoot done for a challenge. Couldn't find him in the cow barn as per usual. But the two guys I met in there, taking out watering bowls, told me he had sold his herd 2 months prior, he was going to switch to crops. Oh, Ok, I didn't know that. So I drove across the road to the old stone farmhouse...and now there is a full-sized dumpster, full and then some, sitting in the yard and a small old 70s style camper parked there too.

That's when I remember him saying something about his eldest daughter moving into the stone farmhouse :-( So on the plus side at least it isn't being demolished or anything, but it truly sucks that I can't go in and shoot anymore. *sigh* Just had to get it off my chest, been buggin me all day.

+1 - I'd be making friends right away.

You clearly have something she'll want. (old pictures of her new house!)

Take her a gift of some maple syrup?

If that doesn't work photoshop some ghosts into those images of yours! Maybe you'll spook her! ;-)

Yeah, not demolished, so it's not FINAL, but I feel your pain.

Yes, then send me her address. ;)

Between the crazy photographer lady, the ghosts, and the burglar who steals syrups, I'm betting she won't last more than a couple of months.

Really, the only other things you really need are a few hundred mice and horse head to leave as a present.

I feel your pain -- I just found out that my osprey nest and baby/babies has been lost for a 3rd year in a row (to a storm)!!! I didn't even have a chance to really go shoot them this year! I just saw that they were nesting. :(

Thanks all for the various suggestions :-) If I go through her Dad I'll probably have better luck. I think she's quite young, only in her late teens or so. Really don't know much about her. If nothing else I am curious to see what the inside is like now, if they're gutting the whole place. Maybe I'll go for a drive a little later on.
