OK I have spent the day trying to get an irrigation system in today....(I am not a farmer but I am trying to grow a cash crop) Anyway the system at this point still does not work. Even after telling my dad that it was inefficient and entirely too expensive. So now I have to spend more money on "RELIABLE METHODS" My back is killing me and I had to hear a song that suits the mood.
Its a great day to whoop somebody's ass

Ya poor thing!
I've only shoveled and hauled something like 20-25 tons of dirt and rock this week by hand.
Oh, and then there was the other few things, like building a large stone firepit, etc.
I feel great though. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'm gonna go lay down for a couple of days. |

That was a Nine Inch Nails song written by Trent Reznor, but while I like the original, the Man in Black took it to a whole new level.
Adam, If you are working with emitter irrigation, have you been doing the hot water trick ? Fill the hoses with hot water to make them lose their shape memory, get them where you want them and then run cold through them to set the position. It is a PITA to set up but makes the process much faster on a biggish job. |

Well I wiil fill everyone into my irrigation issue
OK I have a bayou running on the back of my land. This is where my dad grew up....He said it always had current because of a couple of springs. Guess what...the springs dried up because of their wells. Then there are all the logs and sticks coming down jamming the water wheel that is supposedly going to pump up the hill. If it was continuously cleaned out it would definitely worked. My initial idea was solar cells with an electric pump.................At this point the solar cells and pump would have cost around $300 cheaper
