I was wondering the best and cheapest places to order mats and bags to sell matted photos in?

Also, if anyone knows good places to have greeting cards produced in bulk, and/or postcards?

If anyone has any good ideas for displays or items to sell at a art show/fair that would be helpful too :)

There's a couple of places in Southern California which print decent postcards very cheaply; they can possibly do greeting cards as well. I will have to get the info from my brother tonight.

The place I work prints a lot of short-run 4-color stuff, but I don't know if we can compete in price with a specialty house, although we might beat them on quality.

If you want paper bags for photos you've sold, try Costco (or similar "wholesaler") or your local paper/janitorial supply shop.

People seem to be happy with Amazingmail according to the postcard exchange threads.

I'm actually looking for two types of postcards...one type to promote my business, and one photo quality type to sell(like the postcards you might buy in a card store).
I figure postcards and greeting cards of photo quality might be good for those not wanting to spend much.
You get a lot of those folks at fairs I believe.

I agree.

For greeting cards, you might check out the type Ofoto uses, where there's a foldover greeting card into which you slip a 4x6 print (I think you end up with a 3x5 mat/opening). 4x6 photographic prints are cheap, you don't have to commit to pre-printing a large number, and the color gamut is far superior to offset printing. They're only about a buck retail; if you order a case I bet they're pretty cheap.

And when the person's done with the card they can frame the photo.

I searched for postcards online and found only a few. You either have to write the address down so they can send it one card at a time or you can buy 500+ postcards of one picture.

I would love to buy 50 of each picture on a postcard. Being able to select more pictures to that 500+ would be nice, but I haven't found anyone who does that yet.

I checked at our shop; we print a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 postcard (Maximum USPS size for postcard rate postage) for $695/1000. Since they are printed 8-up on a sheet, you could get up to 125 each of 8 different images with some careful planning. Price may not include shipping or any applicable taxes ...

Greeting cards are about twice that size, and so should be in the area of twice that price, with maybe up to 4 versions on a sheet. They might be cheaper if unprinted on the back/inside.
