It seems that 559 lbs of explosive material was stolen from a govmt facility. They say that it is not terrorist...and that may be true...but if it is then there is alot of explosive material that can be used to harm alot of people. It very well possibly was stolen by miners, but right now they don't know.

I worked in a mining town for a while. A cop pissed a miner off. The cop's car blew up right in his own driveway one night. Don't piss miners off.

I would worry more about the "powder man" as opposed to the miner. :O)

I would be cautious with either... but never piss off a farmer. Not only do they have access to all sorts of potentially explosive combinations, the economic outlook often causes a somewhat negative view of the world around them... the suicide rate is quite high in that industry. I mean this in the nicest possible way, but thankfully the guys are usually really nice people who wouldn't normally take anyone else out with them. But yeah, piss one off and they can sure do some damage to your gear!
