NASA just released a pretty cool video of the Cassini probe's images of the Saturn Hurricane

Frankly though, the best part were the images. :)



This one's even better. You have to see it full size though. :)

Yeah thats worse than Katrina and Sandy combined.....lol. I wouldnt want to ride that one out

More incredible results from Cassini. Amazing to think that this spacecraft was launched in 1997 and has been in the Saturn system since 2004. Assuming it remains healthy through its second mission extension, it will continue collecting data until 2017.

This article shows off some action out in the rings, where they're being hit by meteorites ...

I think there was a lot of concern (protests) regarding its launch, because it is powered by a plutonium-based reactor instead of batteries/solar panels ... an unsuccessful launch (i.e. the rocket blowing up) would have been bad news for those who disapprove of lung cancer.

Great info about Saturn. I have a modest spotting scope. I'll try to get a decent image before the week is over.
