I think like any investment, a mix of strategies could be wise.
some RM macro, some RF macro, some mid range (alamy), some micro.

Does any of your photos in flickr/Getty collection sell ? I heard that their other collection/group photos are the ones which sell not the flickr collection ? |

Good for you, but I miss the cash I got from referring you to Shutterstock :) |

I don't understand the question. My flickr images are the ones Getty selected. Those are the ones that sell. And that is the pool I continue to build.
So rry h2 :)
But I'll admit, I'f I didn't have a day job. I'd have to do micros. |

I have over 1200 images at Alamy and have been very happy. Although lately there has been both a reduction in royalty rate and a drop in image sales. Either Alamy is in trouble or they are pulling some greedy crap.
I've always believed that every institution will fail you at some point, so I diversified, and am represented bt 15 different agencies, (Alamy + the micros).
Maybe it's time to check out Flickr/Getty. |

It was my impression you couldn't do Alamy and Micros it's one or the other. I suppose you could pick certain images to submit to alamy or getty and then not submit them to other sites. Someone let me know if I am wrong. I quit submitting to alamy partly because of this belief but mostly because I have not ever gotten even one sale from alamy. In the mean time I make quite a substantial amount each month from micro. |

I think you are wrong, except that your supposition is correct -- one doesn't submit the same image (even at different sizes) to both Macro- and Micro-stock sites, or even Royalty-Free at one agency and Rights-Managed at another, but otherwise there's no reason to not post at whatever agency is willing to have you .... |

I guess I was sort of vague what I meant was you couldn't submit the same images at both types of sites. I would have to choose which ones I wanted to go to Alamy and which ones I wanted to go to micro. Which is a pain and I'd rather just submit them all to micro, unless I had something really special. |

Exactly. But you have more experience and success at micro than I do. :-)
At least you have a choice -- Alamy (and I assume Getty and Corbis) won't accept images made with my highest-level camera (too old, too small). |

You can submit to Alamy and Micros the same images as long as you sell them everywhere as RF.
