Thanks a lot, Cory, and Team TPL. Excellent work.

Week 3 results with logos.

Better to compare the new results with IMO. :)

BTW: You guys are all super welcome, this is fun isn't it?

Also, six teams have had perfect participation records so far - pretty impressive guys.

Don't worry JNN it has been seriously thought out and works a treat. It's way above my head to try to explain.

I'll second the don't worry, but Juliet - if you would please spell out exactly what you think was unfair, and exactly how you'd like to see it changed, I can assure you we will carefully examine it.

As it works out, we will almost certainly be changing the scoring system before the next round of TPL, so if you want changes, let us know now - and be specific. :)

Not in a rush by any means to get this round of the TPL over and done with, but any idea when TPL Season 2 will take place? Straight after the conclusion of season 1, or a few months later?
Just would hate to see this fizzle out like the DPL...

Input folks?

There's no reason we need to have any delay at all - with our codebase, it's easy to continue this pretty much indefinitely.

I would say a one month, or two week breather would be a good idea so teams can get sorted out - but I'd love to hear from the community on this.

I tend to agree with that. I'd like to stay consistently involved, but back to back to back would be rough on participants and none participants alike. I believe you need a month gap maybe two between seasons to let it wear off a bit, but not longer enough to forget.

I'd love to go again. This has been very good for me. Forces me to get out and shoot and try things I wouldn't normally do (i.e. refraction). However, I do know that there are others interested and don't want to hog all the learning either. :)

Do you plan on assigning folks to teams the way you did last time? I'd say at least a two week breather but a month may be good too.

Yeah, we're leaning pretty strongly towards full random assignment. Objections are welcome, but it seems the best way to keep things fair, interesting, and it serves as a fun mixer here at DPC.

A month break sounds perfect to me. Gives time to see who is continuing, who wants out next round, recruit some new blood, form the teams, create the logos, etc.

i want to see new scoring implemented before season 2, week four's results had issues that didn't affect the outcomes but could have.

the 5% rule reared its ugly head again, when it shouldn't have.

+1 for month break and full randomization of teams. I'm tired of carrying the while Dodge&Burnouts team on my back.

Thanks Cory, MAK, Epsi, and the rest of the team who put this TPL together. The results format is great and easy to read.

I agree with MarkB - A month break sounds like a good span. Enough for those who wish to carry on to rest up and not too long that interest starts to wane.

The TPL experience has been great for it forced me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to go out to take photos on days I did not feel like it. You meet new people, new 'angles' of thought and sometimes just shoot the breeze:-) As positive as it has been I'm looking forward to a break as that other things are cropping up that need my focused attention:-)

I'd prefer randomized selection and at least two to four weeks between tournaments.

+2 for full randomization. I always feel like I need to under perform on my current team to boost the confidence of Garry.

ROFL..

You two stooges have this all mixed up. ;)

You're supposed to trash talk the other teams. :D

You're a good man, Ben! A terrible photographer, but a good man.

At least a month between tournaments. With a similar number of participants and teams, that would still give us four per year. I am enjoying the incentive to get out and shoot as well as to try things I never have before like refraction, but it has really taken a lot of time. Even here at DPC I find I am commenting way less even though I'd like to comment more (I always like to vote and comment the challenges I enter) because I'm spending so much time on entries and entering more challenges which gives me more to vote on. I would even vote for two months between tournaments.

Have you seen the rankings? It's no fun to pick on the losers! :)

Just a friendly reminder for all: You only need to enter one challenge a week to qualify for the bonus.

Still a lot of work, but I think sometimes we get too caught up in trying to marathon all the challenges during a TPL/DPL season. Perhaps just trying for one a week would ease the burnout a bit?

You're right - but entering more maximizes my chances for an acceptable score. I'm finding I have NO sense of what will do well here. Not complaining - just saying.
