That number is pretty impressive considering it isn't a possible score.

Just dunno about this thread title ... My score just keeps going down and down; don't think I've seen an up for a while :(

Hanging out in the mid 4s on this one. My FS is mid 5s and my nude is mid 3s. I guess I've got the ups and downs covered across the three.

i'm the same here, but my score IS going up some. i'm fluctuating within a .25 score above and below 4.5 (have hit 4.3 and 4.75).
people are not liking this duotone group.

Mid 5 score last I looked (two days ago) but four AWESOME comments from people I respect, and a favorite. I'm VERY pleased!

5.8xx score, 2 nice comments, and a fave.
I had stopped entering challenges after a long series of low 5s and many 4s, and now my current entry apparently pleases others along with me. My enthusiasm is waxing...

Seem to be a lot of fave's going around. I also got one! Thanks to whoever it is that is making us all feel better about our poor scores.
Score is 6.0 btw but my sugar score should count for this round of TPL so no need go and drop some low votes on my Duotones image now please.

Thanks for your kind help Paul. I did know that info. I was just being vague and not mentioning who it is in case they recognize who I am by the favorites they have dished out.
Always nice to get a fave before a challenge ends tho! I am a happy chappy

Doh! I'm always a little slow to catch on to anything that is subtle! I took 'whoever it is' to be a sign of the perceived unknown rather than the intentionally unrevealed.

Favs are good to get though.

Your submission should only consist of two tones (black/white, sepia, etc).

Well, if it helps anyone out, I just got DQ'd with a 5.8889. It was my own mistake: I was going to enter it in Free Study but was processing photos for Duotone at the same time and had several open in PS at once. It was taken before the entry date... I just wish I had realized my mistake in time to enter something else.

Not sure why I was asked for verification - do they do that for ones that are doing well? Or did someone mark it? Just curious b/c I've never gotten a ribbon or anything and don't know if that is standard protocol at this stage of the game for high scores. I was hoping that was the case- and I was excited, until I realized the date when I located the original. :(

Oh, that's too bad. So sorry. I'm guessing they look at the dates and if they see dates that appear off, ask for verification? I'd like to know for sure, too.

Bummer. Sorry to hear it. Just a stab in the dark, really, but I think some folks poke around to get exif data, and if they find something that doesn't add up (such as an illegal date) they'll send a ticket to elicit a validation request. I don't know how they do it, but it's been talked about before.

If my photo DNMC, then I have no problem with it being reported, etc... But how can they view the EXIF at this stage? I guess they can download it and view the EXIF through their own editing program?

I really want to know the answer to this, too. I have been filling out my camera and setting info when I upload. Can people who are voting see this? What if I just leave that stuff, including location, blank?

No one is reporting photos for DNMC reasons (or if they are they're being ignored); and no one can see the info you've entered in DPC's photo info fields, so no need to worry about that.

Photos are reported for suspected rules violations (added text, advanced editing tricks in basic challenges, etc.). In this particular case, I'd wager someone managed to look at the exif data, noticed the date, and reported it.

I have no idea how they do it, but it can be done.

Instead of sharing info with how it's done (not really prudent to educate everyone how to look behind the curtain), perhaps someone can suggest ways to strip the exif data from entries so people can maintain anonymity (among other things)?

i know that if you primarily edit in LR and then edit for DPC the exif info will stay but I believe when you save for web through PS the majority of the EXIF is stripped. Atleast it gets stripped through my workflow. ( I think :))
