Interesting and a little bizarre. It's hard to imagine this would ever catch on as left-handed photographers are probably well accustomed to the conventional camera layout. I've rarely seen a lefty use a computer mouse on the left side for the same reason. |

Maybe it's a pre-emptive defense against an A.D.A. lawsuit ... ;-) |

I've fixed their press release:
Originally posted by Canon U.S.A.: Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today introduced a revolutionary new camera that finally addresses the needs of left-handed photographers worldwide John, the Revelstoke, BC resident who saw triggering the shutter release with his right index finger as a barrier to ever picking up a camera: the Canon EOS 7D L Digital SLR camera. |
A bit more wordy, but more accurate as well. |

Mike, Cory and I aren't just "skeptical", we're 100% positive it's an April Fool's joke press release... Presumably that's what YOUR wink means, too? :-)

Good reason to be skeptical as it's one of several camera-related pranks, but it didn't get any play yesterday. :-( |

Lefties should be good at self portrait close ups.

It really helps with framing if you have one of Canon's cameras with an LCD you can flip out and rotate ... |

An advert from my eBay Summary page. I thought, "Wow, a left-handed camera", then moved on.
First saw it on Tuesday, then shortly this thread started... |
