		| | I have something that's a dark color of one color, I want to change it to a completely different color, much, much lighter, but still keep the same ahadows, etc that's on the dark thing. 
 Any tips on how to do this?

		| | can you just change the HSL? 
 create an adjustment layer, and then create a mask based on the color selection. that's how i would try it first.

		| | Hmmm -- I think I found it. It's actually the first time that replace color has actually worked for me. I don't know what I've been doing wrong other times...
