About the score it is going up and down but mostly downside!
Started with 6.8 then to 6.4 to 6.2 and now 6.13 :) |
Likewise... I'm barely holding a 6.1 |

Perhaps I differ from some of the posters here, but although I did vote this challenge slightly higher than others, I would venture that the votes I meted out in this instance are much closer to my average than some of the other people here.
I fully realize that this challenge is in memory of Shez, but surely we can demonstrate our collective appreciation for her presence in DPC without artificially inflating the scores.

I don't think people are artificially inflating scores. I think this challenge is just touching some people more than others. Remember, part of the response to photography isn't just how good the photograph is, but how it makes you feel. There will be a real mix of responses in this challenge because of extra emotions going in.

I have no argument with your views in this regard.
Having said this, I look at some of the comments made to date, take a look at the average scores that people meted out prior to this challenge and have some serious reservations as to whether or not they are boosting the scores solely based on the fact that this challenge is in recognition of the person to whom we are paying tribute to.
I am convinced that most would remember the Anssel Adams challenge where an original of his photos did not score all that well... and the point I am trying to make is that some of us are so caught up in the memory of our dear departed friend that we automatically dole out scores that surpass normal expectations.

Hello guys, I didn't have the chance to meet Shez, but after a little reading and browsing, I learned how a beautiful and strong person she was. The way she overcame the pain just to share the joy of photography is truly inspiring.
There are amazing images in here, I'm glad I came back to photography and dpc just in time to join the tribute. Oh and my current stats of the challenge:
