So is it safe to say we are the Naked Pedestrians and after week one we have a total of 3.5 points and we are tied for the lead in our division with three other teams? |

Yup! You can put some shoes on now and take a breather. |

If the two sets agreed, you could go with that. That way the only ones that would have to be double checked would be any where there was a disagreement - and even there you could let the two captains know to see whether they couldn't spot the problem. Just an idea to buy more time if you need it. |
Captains are welcome to calculate the results of their team. If there is any need of support just send me a PM and I can try to clarify the scoring system wherever confusion might lie.
The code that extract the info from the site and calculates the results is done and working, as in any code there should be some bug that I haven't found. If the teams calculate their score and differs from the code I can see where the problem is coming from.
The current issue is related to present this results in full detail in a properly (nice/human friendly) formatted form, that is automatized.
The scoring code is autonomous so one is set to run at the beginning of each season it goes on its own without human intervention except to change players and the challenges for each week. This makes it extremely easy to have successive Leagues with no real hassle to the human element. Ideally we would like to have a similar code that post the results into the threads but that is still to be defined if it is feasible. |
What if we have you on a team?! would you help the team captain to calculate? |

Certainly Tom, Doc already calculated this week and numbers match so no problems so far.

Yes, as long there are no disqualifications or bugs popping out. Which pretty much means that we are never 100% certain.
Originally posted by pamb: Thank you for your response Max. I understand your reasoning yet feel that a smaller % differential would be more appropriate (even) for the current league. I still feel that 5% over 100% is a large range to be considered equal.
By the way - thank you and the crew for setting it up. As for the league, run it the way you want to/can; after all, you guys are the ones putting in the hard work, we've just come to play in your sandpit for a while :) |
Once the League starts no changes to the scoring system would be made. For good or bad it stays as it is. Looking at the first week, only 1 out of 8 matches finished in tie, so I don't think that there is any urgent need of changing the 5%. If most matches would have ended in ties I would agree in considering lowering the limit if that was the issue.

Is there somewhere to see who is on which team? |

What's the tie breaker?
Four teams currently have the same score. Say it stays that way. At the end, what metric will be used to determine the winner?

I very much doubt it will be like that in the end, if it is we will simply ask the capt. to select 1 player from the team in a head to head.. |

Go back to page 1 of this thread. See the 6th post - it's by Epsi. There's a link in there to the thread where the members of each team were listed. It's near the beginning of the thread. A few individuals have dropped out and been replaced since then, but I'd guess it's better than 97% accurate. (I'm not a math person so I just made up a nice high number there) |

So I'm still a little confused. How is it that two teams this week had a 2.00 as opposed to the 3 for a win, or 1 for a tie? |

without having done the math or looked at the teams involved I'd say it was a 1.5 tie with a .5 participation bonus. |

Don't worry, Hocus Focus will be so far out out in front it wont matter, of course i guess the rest of you will need to figure out how to sort out the jumbled mess you are all sure to end up in. |

The original rules posting stated a tie was worth 1.5 points. Later on I think there was a typo that is was 1 point. |

My guess is that it's 1.5 for a tie and 0.5 for the team bonus. |
