I took over 5000 shots on my Alaska inside passage cruise last summer. It was incredible for photography.
We have an opportunity to go on a carribean cruise next January. The cruise is the Carnival Victory, and it goes to Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Is that a good venue for a shutterbug like me? What are the most photogenic places down there you've visited?
Thanks in advance. |

I went on the same Carribean cruise 6 years ago for my honeymoon. I was on the Carnival Destiiny. The carribean is very photogenic, I took lots of pictures.

And I shot almost all RAW. But I always travel with my laptop and CD burner, even on vacation! I only have two 256 MB cards, and my son has 256 MB for his 2MP camera, and my daughter 64 MB for her 1MP camera. Every night I had to stay up and dump everyone's camera. A few times I had to dump mine between the morning and afternoon expeditions. Not to mention all the battery charging. They only give you one outlet with two recepticles in the cabin! |

Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica is pretty cool. There's a house made entirely of shells in Grand Cayman, as well as a turtle farm. There's also a town called Hell. The rock formations aren't really all that cool to photograph but you have to take lots of photos of the signs that say "Welcome to Hell."
It's been ages since I've been to these places but I'm sure you'll find just about everything you do to be a good photographic opportunity. It's all so pretty! |
