		| My new Nikkor AF-S Nikkor 80-400mm F4.5-5.6G ED VR just arrived today. I owned the Nikkor AF 80-400mm F4.5-5.6D VR for about 12 years so this is a long overdue upgrade. It looks to be impressive with 4-stop vibration reduction, nano coated lens, multiple ED glass and even the new Super ED element and the silent wave motor. I can not believe how fast it focused on the Nikon D800; it is lightning fast. First opinion is that it is as sharp as the 70-200 mm f2.8D VRII, which is impressive for such a long lens. I look forward to using them both at the Sun 'n Fun Aviation Event in early April in Lakeland, Florida. |

		| Good luck with that new lens. It's always good to get feedback. I hope you enjoy it and let us know when you post some sample photos. |

One of the main reasons I stuck with Canon was I felt that the 100-400L was a better lens than the old Nikon 80-400. I so badly wanted a Nikon body, but the lens ruled it out for me. Of course. Murphy's Law, a new 80-400 would be released a month after I got my Canon 7D.

Enjoy the lens, let us know how it performs! |

		| I'm leaning very heavily toward getting this lens. I was going to get the Sigma (120-400mm f/4.5-5.6)but with this out now and F/stops being the same it seems like a better choice. Plus it's 80mm instead of 120. |

If you have the money, I suspect that this is a much better lens. It's also much more expensive, but I'm hearing good things about it. |

		| I've always been tempted by the 80-400. Looking forward to your pics! |
