This term was used in reference to printing some of my files. |

No, I don't think so. I sent files to a lab and allowed "color correction". I was not happy with the prints. I said the color appeared flat and they said they would reprint. When I inquired as to how that could make a difference, they said "The color technician took out several points of density". I am just trying to understand what that means. |

Percentage points. He adjusted the density/exposure to make it richer. |

Actually, they looked very flat. And that's how I described them when I said I wasn't happy with the color. The support person said whatever the technician did could make the color flat. I don't know anything about printing. He was adjusting percentage of what? |

That I can't tell you. I just know the "points" probably refer to percentage points of adjustment. |

i was recently informing myself about the print process and read about ppi which is screen based, pixels-per-inch.... and dpi, which is dots-per-inch and used for print, often referred to as "density" on the printing surface. no idea of that's what they meant but the word is the same. hope it helps. |
