ok, so i downloaded a free light meter app for my phone that appears to work as advertised, which is cool considering it was free.

now seeing what the light meter gives me, how do i translate that to say my flashes to help light a scene? or do i not have the proper lighting gear?

i thought that name was ingenious. it is a pretty cool app, they even went with the retro look.

There are many Light Meter apps out there, actually. As far as I can see so far, they are all for ambient light. That is to say, of no use for measuring strobe lights.
