Pick any image that was DQ'D and reshoot, then process it with expert editing.

What if we were DQd in expert?

I love expert, but why expert?

Why not?

I'm just curious as to why Frank thinks this particular challenge should be that rule set. That's all.

I would guess it's because a second DQ is much less likely with expert editing. 90% of the DQs here wouldn't have been DQ'd in expert.

I'm guessing quite a bit less -- a large number of DQs are for date violations or failure to produce a valid original and have nothing to do with the editing.

ETA: Still, wouldn't the "challenge" be to reproduce the image under the same rule set as the original without getting DQ'd yourself? I don't see that much point in doing it under other rules ...

I would imagine you could pick from any image that has been dq'd or the majority of people wouldn't be able to enter at all!

Fair point on my DQ percentage estimate. Only the SC would know that. That said, I think the interesting DQs that Frank is talking about are not of the "no valid original" variety, but rather of the "this was a stunning piece of work but was DQ'd because of a slip in editing" flavor. There is a long list.

How about we have a challenge where we try to get one over on SC. It would be fun watching them validate every image.
