Stupid question alert: I've just got my Canon 7D and busy playing with it and trying to customize it as best I can. Right now I have it set up so that all the AF points are displayed on the screen. Although all AF points are on the screen, my camera is setup so that one AF point is being used for focus. Spot focus I think it's called?
When i press the shutter button halfway, none of the AF points light up, rather there's this general red light to show focus has been achieved. Now, on my old T2i, when I pressed the shutter half-way, the active AF point/s lit up so I knew exactly which points were being used to achieve focus. There has to be a way to do the same with the 7D, but for the life of me, I can't find it!

Thanks, Derek. I saw that earlier, but unfortunately that deals with illumination of AF points in servo mode. I want them to light up in One Shot mode. |

Yeah- look at post 13. He lists the menu item and your options. I linked the whole thing as it's got a bunch of overall info about it. I'm thinking if what he describes doesn't get you where you're looking, you might be out of luck and it might just not be a feature they put in, for whatever reason.
ETA: This has some more info, particularly post 9.
