My friend needed some help with installing ringtones on her iPhone, so I found her a couple of tutorials. Decided to try it out first just to refresh my memory on how this is done, in case she asks me a question.
I managed to successfully create and install a couple of ringtones, but the one SHE would have really wanted (the Golden Girls song), simply refuses to work, it just won't show up on the phone and I don't understand why not.
I have other ringtones that work just fine. They live in the same folder, have the same file extension (.m4r), are the same length (40 seconds), show up in iTunes where they should show up, play just fine in iTunes and show up as an option on the phone.
This ringtone is ticked to synchronize just like the others, every thing is the same - except that I can't see it on the phone!
I have restarted iTunes and totally rebooted the phone. I have searched the whole list on the phone (in case of some spelling or order issue), but that ring tone simply does NOT show up as an option on my phone.
What is the difference? What am I missing?
