Hi
I am pretty clueless when it comes to internet stuff. I USE it, but have no real knowledge about it.
I wanted to get onto the Topaz website and my browser (Firefox) warned me that I shouldn't open the page. I had the option of "more info" (or something similar), and this is what it said:

Safe Browsing
Diagnostic page for topazlabs.com

What is the current listing status for topazlabs.com?

Site is listed as suspicious - visiting this website may harm your computer.

Over the past 90 days, topazlabs.com did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?

No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.

How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

Can someone explain, very briefly, what this means, and is it still OK for me to "ignore warning" and go to the website anyway (that is an option given)? i.e is this just an overcautious warning. Has anybody else had this, a similar or in fact any problem with the Topaz website?

Thanks for your help

I found this on their forum:

Malware fixed, database rollback
We've recently had a rash of hackers inject some malicious code on our site. We've removed all the malware and fortified our site against future compromises. To the best of our knowledge, no personal knowledge was accessed; the malware just showed ads and redirected people away from our site.

As part of the fix we've had to do a database rollback of 2 days to January 15 at around 3AM CST. (You might lose some forum posts that you created during that time.)

Sorry for the inconvenience and if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them!
Eric Yang

Dated Jan 17. It probably takes time to remove the site from the malware databases.

Weird isn't it if I try to go to Topaz via Google it stops me too.

If you go another way its ok.

I don't have a clue why but have never had it happen before and have used Topaz for years.

Seems as normal when you get there to me,but as I say I know nothing.
