How come there wasn't an end of the world 2012 challenge?
when it doesn't happen maybe there could be a 'celebrate the world not ending' challenge! |

You wish. It's more fun to keep bumping it to the the top and embarrass you with it for a while.

surely we can get more than a day out of this?!
Oh, hang on, we only have until tomorrow. Actually in Australia we have 8 minutes.... or in daylight saving timezones they've already been finished for 52 minutes now... |

The South Pole just up and dumped a foot of snow on the the midwestern USA and tornadoes in Alabama. If reports of kangaroos and wallabies flying by are next, we'll know
The End Is Near!

Unfortunately we̢۪re still here and I̢۪ve had to go to work. I will be a tad annoyed if the world ends just at knockoff time. |

so i just had bbc radio 5 live on, think news and sport for non uk'ers they had the foremost mayan expert on live from a dig in belize and she said there is no predictions for the end of the world tomorrow, that they list tomorrow as the end of a 400 yr block of time that we would consider like our millennia
thier word for beginning and end is the same so they two monuments that list 21/12/12 are in refernce to the the time switch not the end of the world......... |

Wouldn't the Mayans have used theWestern hemisphere date format (12/21/12)?
The most logical theory I've heard for the calendar "ending" on that date is that it was when the stone-carver ran out of space on the rock ... |
