| I think I need some help on this one. My understanding of soft focus is a bit fuzzy. A subject in soft focus is one generally considered in focus but not super crisp? Would the other side of this coin be an image that is gritty/crunchy? |

Strictly speaking, soft focus is NOT simply out of focus.
Soft Focus
That fact won't stop people from doing exactly that.
