putting this out there early.
Expert editing, create a creative holiday card of you and/or family that you would send out to relatives and friends.
extra rules, text allowed and it would be nice to open this up to stock images for backgrounds or other but you must actually photograph you or your family within the challenge date, in case this runs before most get decorations up. I'd like to see this challenge earlier rather than later so we could actually use these cards if we choose. |

I'll be doing mine this weekend, so lets get this puppy up on the boards tonight at midnight! :-)
oh...and of course we don't want to limit it to just people right?!?....right? ;-) |

Can we choose to have a holiday card that's not a family portrait? I love the idea -- but I never do family portraits for holiday cards.
But bring on the card challenge! (I'd prefer without stock images, though. :)

Grand idea.
But how about simply "Holiday Card" to include all ideas.
Expert editing? of course! |

im ok with modifying it to not include people or family.
"holiday card" of any sort is fine. |

So if we want the suggestion modified, mike_311 needs to go back and edit his original suggestion to reflect the changes? |

great, i just did mine last weekend.
the intent was to have this challenge early enough to be able to get them made, ordered and out in a reasonable time. |

the concept of featuring ypur family on your Christmas cards is completely alien to the British. Indeed, I think that sending such a card would be viewed as somewhat egotistical - shame the description didn't allow for other types. |

Indeed. Luckily i have quite a large extended imaginary family which could fill in nicely. |

That's also valid for some other strangers :) I fully agree with with your remark about the description. |

I haven't been here long but I have noticed that the challenges that are accepted from suggestion threads are taken from the original poster's original post. It's clear (and easy to see why, I might add) that Langdon does not have time to go back and wade through the threads, culling the gems from among the responses and crafting a final challenge description. So even if it means editing the original description multiple times as the discussion evolves, that's what needs to be done. And no one but the original poster can edit his/her post. |

Clarification needed: This is expert editing. Does this have to actually be a card, or just the photo you are using in the card or what? I am thinking I just want to submit the photo I am using in the holiday card. But is this going to be one of those one page card deals that everyone sends with their family picture and a caption in the blank space kind of dealy thing?
