Oh Boy. This obsession with glass, this "L Disease" has definitely gone too far. I awoke this morning to the realization that I'd had a dream about getting an incredible Black Friday deal from B&H on a 16-35/2.8L II. The freaky part was, I remembered clearly looking at the B&H page and thinking "Hey, they jacked up the price to make the discount appear deeper... oh well, it's still a smoking deal." I remembered the exact pricing specifics. They had upped the price before discount to $2299, but the total discount was a whopping 80%. I remember thinking, "wow, that's under $500!" Even so, I was conflicted, thinking I really didn't need to spend money on glass just now... but I hit the button anyway!

 So my conclusions were:
  - I really need to seek professional help for this L Disease
  - I'm impressed (and a little frightened) that I could actually "do the discount math" in my sleep
  - I'm not so sure I'm glad it was only a dream!
  - This was way too funny not to share with some kindred souls |

You are in luck, I think there is a 12 step program for that.

This is why I have cheap lenses.

		| Is there the possibility that a Nikon guy can get this kind of disease? |

 Awesome.

I'm actually trying to get rid of my high end glass to purchase lesser stuff. Tired of travelling around with my 24-70 f/2.8 and hope the proceeds finance an Olympus OM-D EM-5 with the 20mm f/1.7 Panasonic lens. |

First and most important.... Can you grab one for me while your there next time :-)

I recently bought a 70-200f4IS and am having trouble getting organised to sell my old 70-200f4 NON IS - I really don't want to sell it deep down.... Does that qualify me to comment? I seem to recall you buying something in a thread about GAS, so I think it's too late really.....

To hint at how much of a geek I might be at times... A babylon5 character once said "You must learn to embrace the madness".... I suggest that L habit is still cheaper then shrinks anyway so what the hell :-) |

Tell that to my loving wife 8-0
Ah well, she tolerates the habit. And the motorcycle habit, and... well, you get the picture. |
