This is the way the country is going to head. Higher prices and more people trying to find second jobs.

So, he's adding a surcharge of 5%, to cover the costs, plus cutting employees to all part-time status to avoid the costs?

Seems to me he wins on both ends, what a douchebag.

A message the there are a bunch of Americans that are fed up with our govmt and our president. Seeing how divided this pres has already made us...I would not be surprised if we ended up having another civil war. This one won't be like the last one though. It would not be North vs South... As the main catalyst of the last one was money...the same would be true. By the way I do hope that it doesnt come down to this. Our country is severely divided....we have a pres that is continuously surrounded by controversy...and tons of people out of work or just losing money. That is my 2 cents

I say LET"EM GO! //abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/11/states-with-most-signatures-to-secede-took-millions-in-federal-money/

eta: But we should put up fences to keep them out once they're gone!

Dude. He's charging the customers to make up for the extra cost.
He's then shifting staffing to avoid the extra cost.

So, in effect, he has no additional costs, but he has additional income (quite a bit more in fact, since he can now avoid other costs associated with full time employees). So, he is now making even more money, while customers are paying more, and employees are making less. That's just morally corrupt.

The math isn't hard - one or the other is fine, and ethical. Doing both makes this guy a fricken scumbag.

Did you see the dollar amount that was going to be added onto the meals @ 5%. Here is the paragraph

At Dennyâs restaurants operated by Metz, the average check is $9, he said, meaning the ObamaCare surcharge if implemented would be 45 cents on that bill. At Hurricane Grill & Wings locations, where the average bill is $14.50, the surcharge would total 72 cents

Now it also said that it was going to cost him around $70,000 per restauraunt. He is trying to give employees as may hours as he can and then offset the rest with the surcharge....And I hope that on the recipt it is called the obamacare surcharge

My point is half the country is republican and the other half is democratic. Actually people from all 50 states have now signed petitions. None of them are going to do anything other than reinforce the point that we are split down the middle. It's a way to blow off steam. So, I find it quite humorous. If you seriously look at the numbers that have signed nationwide you'll see you don't even have the population of one small city. //dailycaller.com/2012/11/14/white-house-secede-petitions-reach-660000-signatures-50-state-participation/

eta: I found this paragraph particularly entertaining...

Late Tuesday a second group of Texans, this one from Houston, lodged their own White House petition. Secession-minded Texans, they wrote, âare mentally deficient and [we] do not want them representing us. We would like more education in our state to eradicate their disease.â

It's actually 750,000 and that is a pretty large city. I just want this pres to wake up....Quit dividing America and bring us together. He is so arogant and egotistical that won't happen. That is part of the prob we have now. That is a big reason behind all this. He hasnt listened, chances are he wont listen. He wants to do what he wants to do and he won't compromise.

Its all stuff like
Expand the earned income tax credit

this type of stuff works out to his favor...The EIC allows people that don't pay tax get a tax refund. That is only 1 example and it was on the top of the list

It's quite a mixed bag actually "Eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups" and these are things that his quite willing to compromise on which means he won't get the results he's looking for. Look, you believe what you want to believe and no amount of facts are going to change your mind. In our lifetimes we all deal with presidents we don't agree with. I despised Bush. I'm not even a big fan of Obama. He's no where near liberal enough for me. So to each his own.

I would ask...Who's actually dividing America? Is it a centrist president who started his first term trying to work with the Republicans, or is it the Fox news watching ideologues who think they'd be better off starting their own banana republic?

Speaker Boehner who declared on day one that his "Number One Priority" was making Obama a one-term President?

The question is not "Who is dividing America", but rather "What is dividing America".

The answer, of course, is politics. For far too long both parties have only gotten more and more radically polarized. Now we find ourselves at a point where each party tries to cast the candidate of the opposing party as being spawned from the pits of hell.

Who wins the election anyway, and why? Is it because they're really qualified? Or because they are really good guys who will put the good of the nation first? Or do we elect the best liar who is more adept at manipulating the rather gullible average voter?

In short, Plato had it right years ago.
