Hey, you know how you can turn on extras- as in grids, guides, slices, etc. in Photoshop? Then you hit ctrl+h to get rid of them? I turned them on once (by using the drop down menu) cause I wanted to see the grid briefly, but now it defaults to "on" with every image I open. I just want to be able to look at it occasionally, not for it to be the default. I've tried turning it off through the drop down the same way I turned it on, but it didn't do the trick. Every image still opens with grids on. How do I stop this? Hitting ctrl+h is easy enough once the image is open I suppose, but sometimes it can actually take a few seconds depending on the size of the image. A little annoying! Thanks in advance guys.

| Scroll through the Preferences, those kinds of settings are usually there. If you can't find it there, see if the menu item is active with no file open ... sometimes selecting a menu item with no file open will set the default state. |

the above should work, also under the window menu i think you can set it back to the defualt layout - but that will reset all the pallette settings as well...
