"Bless you"? Actually I think they mean it more like "For good health" - literally - when someone sneezes. That's what we have in Polish as well (a different word of course).

actually it translates to 'God send health', but...'bless you' can be it's meaning too.

Yeah I just edited my post because I remembered it was similar to Polish :) I said "bless you" w/o thinking because I got used to it here. |

The docs usually never deal with this stuff, it's the nurses...they have the good stories.
There was one doc who tended to sweat profusely so he would order one of the hospital's "maxi pads" to put on the inside of his hat when he was in surgery. Since it was on his list, inevitably, the patient or their insurance would get billed for it.
